Loweing Cholesterol Diet Principles
Limit foods high in cholesterol and transfats. Avoid the food if it
says partially hydogenated in the ingreident portion of the nutrition
label.
Limit or avoid meat and animal products.
Emphasize a diet low in saturated fat, lean meants such as fish &
chicken Substitue olive oil for animal fat. Monounsaturated fats are
"healthier" than saturated fat.
Polyunsaturated fats may lower HDL cholesterol levels
Speak with your physician about cholesterol lowering medication.
Consider avoiding:
Dairy products. If a must, substitute with low or nonfat dairy products
Beef and pork. If a must, substitute with very low fat beef &
pork
Fast food, processed food, anything that is not natural.
